When inspectors visited Real Pho, a Vietnamese restaurant on the Northwest Side, they found all kinds of violations, including five repeats.

Meat thawing in a bucket in a mop sink, roaches in the kitchen, and a restaurant forced to close due to no hot water -- those violations led to some low scores for a trio of restaurants.

A cafe with dead roaches and rat droppings topped this week’s list of restaurants with low scores and that’s not all inspectors found during a recent visit.

SAN ANTONIO – A North Side café that failed a city health inspection earlier this year after pests were found inside was again cited for the presence of pests during its most recent inspection. In March, the restaurant failed a health inspection after a heavy presence of pests was found, along with improper washing of dishes and utensils being used despite being in poor condition. SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Metro Health recently gave failing inspection scores to China Village Buffet and Rick's Cabaret for several violations. China Village Buffet on Loop 1604 near Culebra received 34 demerits on its latest inspection. The health inspector noted grease in places it shouldn't be. The inspector noted mold growing on the flour mix, slime from the soda gun dripping onto ice, and flies in both bar areas. Rick's Cabaret management said the health inspector came by at the end of a busy shift, and the staff hadn't had a chance to clean yet.
