San Antonio area shelters that help the homeless are in need of blankets and coats for this weekend and the winter temperatures ahead.

In the face of the freezing temperatures this week, outreach leaders are focused on making sure the San Antonio's homeless population is able to stay warm.

Even in this cold weather emergency, some people could be out in the cold. KSAT 12 News also reach out to Haven for Hope about its cold weather emergency shelter plans. A spokesman was not able to offer details right away on how the pandemic might impact the shelter.
