Grab an Umbrella: Pop-up Downpours Possible Today

Good morning, everyone.

I’m meteorologist Justin with a look at your morning forecast.

We’ve had a couple showers this morning and with the heating of the day, we’ll get some more activity to bubble up this afternoon. Some decent downpours are expected in spots as our computer model shows.

Yes, some downpours will be popping up, and while it’s hard to know exactly where, if you’re one of the lucky ones, you could see some brief heavy rain, maybe some lightning, and some gusty winds with a few of these storms.

This activity is expected to continue bubbling up even into the evening. So, expect temperatures to reach 93°F around 2 o’clock and peak at 95°F. There’s about a 30% chance of rain at that point. Keep in mind, the heat index will be up close to 100°F.

We’ll get a similar setup tomorrow and Friday with more chances of rain before rain chances begin to taper off this weekend, making way for lots of heat showing up next week.
